Boating Suite was founded by Rob Anonen in 2009, and the original version of the app was launched on March 22, 2010. The goal from the beginning was to create an innovative boating app that was intuitive and easy to use. Rob’s passion for boating inspired him to create an app that would allow him to log his boating trips, track fuel, maintenance, and expenses, and share his passion with other boaters around the world.

The idea for Boating Suite started with Rob’s paper logbooks, Excel spreadsheets, and an iPhone 3Gs in 2009. The App Store was new at the time, and there were a handful of navigation apps but no boating logbooks. Rob saw an opportunity to create an app that was simple and useful, and since then, Boating Suite has grown to become the most robust and most downloaded logbook app on the App Store.
